NC-ASHI Educational Conference
Burlington NC

The North Carolina Chapter of the American Society of Home Inspectors is again teaming with Bonnie and Tom Gregory and The Home Inspection Training Center for a two day training event.

Attending this two day event will provide you with NCHILB approved Continuing Education Credits to renew your NC Home Inspector License next fall. The classes are also approved for ASHI Continuing Education Credits.

Understanding Engineered Lumber: In this course we are going to explore engineered lumber products with the main focus on Engineered Beams and "I" Joists construction. We will explore APA installation recommendations with focus on inspection procedures and defect identification. Everything you need to know about engineered beams and I-joists. We will develop inspection procedures that can be used for every framing system, learn how to quickly identify defects, and correctly report defects with engineered systems.

Inspecting Closed Crawl Spaces: Thomas and Bonnie have developed a new inspection procedure that includes a phone application and check sheet for closed crawl spaces. This course will outline the required system and components, develop an inspection procedure, familiarize the inspector with common defects, and take the mystery out of the closed crawl space. Did you know that the first indication that the closed system is not functioning properly is inside the home? Did you know that more inspectors get call backs on retro fit closed systems than any other type? Can you really retro fit an existing home? Let's get together and explore the inspection procedures and risk associated with closed systems.

NC Board Update Course:
The 2015 Board Update course is a four part course that walks the student through changes in the SOP, how to avoid a complaint, and how to build and use the DDID statement. This is an interactive course, so sharpen your pencils and join us in seminar or in a webinar setting.

Additional information will be available soon..
